Laura is a ‘champion of fulfilling careers’ – through her PhD research, consulting work, and coaching. Eight years ago, she took time off work, not by choice admittedly, having been made redundant, suffering a badly broken wrist, and catching shingles! This forced pause turned out to be a blessing in disguise – giving her time to work out her purpose and map out an exiting next chapter.

Naturally, my research is into the Psychology of Fulfilling Work.
Becoming an author has been a major milestone in her transition—stimulating her to find her voice, embrace her vulnerability and hone a bunch of new skills. Her style is accessible and engaging. She loves translating complex concepts into accessible and practical insights anyone can use.
Learning is one of her pivotal strengths, usually channelled into developing everyday skills and knowing but she is also an award-winning academic researcher. She is currently studying for a Psychology PhD, has a Masters in Coaching and Mentoring, and an honours degree in Psychology. Laura is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and an accredited coach with APECS.
Previously, she held director-level positions for respected businesses across six different sectors including retail (John Lewis Partnership), pharmaceuticals (GSK), insurance (Aviva), oil and gas (Centrica), defence (BAE Systems) and luxury goods (Burberry). As a consultant, she has worked with many others.
Like most mid-lifers, Laura has a lot going on. She is mum to Lewi and Jas and wife to Rob. Identical twin to Ell and older sister to Val. Aunty to a clutch of fabulous nephews and nieces. A very amateur photographer and a reluctant house renovator. She only manages to stay human if she does something active every day.
Laura is unlike anyone else I know. Able to develop compelling futures and extract simplicity from complexity she is bright, future thinking and articulate, blending broad organisational knowledge with imaginative research and a deep systemic awareness. Whilst this encapsulates what Laura can do, it is how she does it that makes Laura special. Laura is driven by a love for individuality and for developing people. She revels in giving them freedom and space to grow, to be themselves, to be at their best. This means Laura is able to be both an incredibly organisationally savvy leader whilst simultaneously ‘seeing’ everyone’s potential and caring enough to support them, coach them, mentor them to achieve that.
